February 13 - Friend Susan & brother David, & puppy
buyers Adam & Brooke, all from Knoxville, and another puppy buyer Terri from VA, all came to help tear down the kennel
covers and supports -- what a lot of work we got done in 37 degrees and
blustery winds.
So, thankfully, we got the tarps stored
and the support structures down before there was more snow damage. |
|
February 26 - Susan & David come down for the morning and this
time we hauled storm debris to the dump -- three trailer loads, most of
the destroyed plastic dog houses, and things the dogs have 'customized'
passed the point of usefulness. Thanks, again, Susan & David! |
| February 27-28 - Steve down from
Chicago and we installed all 4 of the 9g chain link kennel gates in the
downhill/west kennels, moved the www.OptionsPlus.com platinum kennel
panels and gates BETWEEN each kennel run. We're 40 feet short of completing
kennel fence repair and building new doghouses to
replace
damaged ones. |
| March 7-8-9
- Mary, Quintin, & Denver (Brady & Hannah 08) come for a long weekend.
My nephew Jordan stops by. SPRING CLEANING -- we empty the basement kennels, haul away, sort out,
throw away more, clean, and put back neatly, assemble crates, organize
gear, and keep on cleaning . What a wonderful
feeling having my basement kennels back! |
| March 20
- Susan is back to help with kennel repair. |
| April 10 -
Susan brought brother David back, and Jordan came later, to add/replace
grommets, re-build roof structure, and re-hang mesh over 4 kennels on
the South side. Thanks, guys!
4 of the 6 South kennels with new shade
roofs!

5m ChaCha, 3m Boogie, 6m Chooch, and 16m Wyatt enjoying the
shade!,

16m Wyatt, 3m Boogie, & 6m Chooch chillin'..... |
| May 1 - Thanks,
Dru, for the chain-link poles. 90% of the way to getting the roofs
back up! |
| May 8-14
- Saint Becky, Lil Bit, and Zeevie (Maestro & Lucy) came
down from IN to get
some plumbing & electric repairs on the house! We had water in
the basement -- very little water compared to what Nashville got -- but
enough to tackle the project. Turns out we had to replace the hot
water heater and ALL the plumbing in the basement -- washer hook-up
& drain, toilet stack, drain lines for sink and shower and kitchen,
and moved the hot water heater location so there is room for an elevated
tub... not this week. And added 2 new electric lines to the living
room -- one for a dedicated AC unit (COOLNESS!) and one for the
computer.
Found a really nice, rustic cabin resort
6m from the house that allows dogs, reasonable rates, and the NICEST
people you could ask for... right on the lake, plenty of ducks and
grounds to keep you entertained. Piney
Point Resort.
Got the mesh tarp over the driveway
isolation kennels. Played with puppies in the CHEYENNE
litter (Akai X Tori). And it rained so we didn't get to the
chainsaw or get to remove the bent-over fence posts.

| May 22-23
- Quinton, Mary, & Denver (Brady X Hannah) are coming out from NC to
get the downhill roof back up and then to work on the uphill kennels & agility yard -- and to visit their new
puppy in the CHEYENNE
litter (Akai X Tori).
Saturday, Quinton, Mary, Pam W. (Dancer
& Lace), and Susan got the West kennel roof up, and the mesh
stretched. SHADE.

Sunday Quinton & Mary tore down the
North kennels and used the parts to finish the South kennels -- just
need the roofs up to put the dogs in. These last 3 kennels are
GRAVEL, and will be floored with concrete pavers... almost almost there!
North kennel GONE...
South kennel - almost there... need to roof these two and then we're all shaded...

| July 27-28-29
- Basa & Gracie's grandpa spent three of his vacation days down at
Wayeh building puppy palaces! Three more down, only 4 to go! Thanks,
Chuck & Nash! Since Chuck recently retired from building
houses for a living, the puppy palaces were a snap for him. He
also rebuilt the tray under the dog box in the truck so the dogs were
traveling level again (tilted since the old tray collapsed on one
side!) Thanks, Chuck, thanks a million! |
